About the position

The New Product Engineering Manager at NextEra Analytics is responsible for leading a team of software engineers in the development and implementation of innovative software products. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong leadership skills to guide the team through all phases of product development, from concept to production. The manager will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the product roadmap and maintain competitive edge in the renewable energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Define product strategy and guide the development and enhancement of software products for internal and external customers.
• Develop and execute on group project schedules, prioritizing tasks and allocating resources to maximize return on investment.
• Work closely with Marketing, Research and Development, and Operations groups to create and maintain production-ready software.
• Collaborate with the Operational Engineering team to deploy new applications to customers.
• Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
• Oversee all phases of product development, from initial concept through to production release.
• Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product development processes.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure company products remain competitive.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• 8+ years of software engineering work experience
• 2+ years of supervisory/management experience
• Experience developing and architecting AWS native software products at scale
• Demonstrated experience managing technical teams, including performance management
