About the position
The News Data Software Engineer at Star Tribune Media Company LLC is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining the organization's News Data Systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the functionality and efficiency of software components that support journalistic excellence and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain state-of-the-art News Data Systems.
- Analyze code to identify and resolve errors in programs or systems.
- Practice Agile development methods and scrum processes.
- Conduct software code reviews and testing to ensure compliance with business requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain software components using various programming languages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
- Five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate software development experience.
- 24 months of experience analyzing code to find causes of errors and revising programs or systems.
- 24 months of experience practicing Agile development methods and scrum processes.
- 24 months of experience conducting software code reviews and testing to ensure it meets business requirements.
- 24 months of experience designing, developing, and maintaining software components.
- 24 months of experience working with web application and programming languages, including PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, NodeJS, React Native, and GraphQL.
