About the position

The General Manager for NEXCOM Hospitality Group is responsible for managing one or more lodging facilities, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and standards. This role involves overseeing operations, maintenance, budgeting, and guest satisfaction in a Department of Defense lodging environment, akin to a commercial mid-scale hotel. The General Manager will coordinate various services, manage staff, and ensure the safety and security of guests while maximizing operational efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more NHG lodging facilities to ensure performance within established guidelines.
  • Oversee the operation of a professional DoD lodging operation, providing services similar to a mid-scale hotel.
  • Coordinate minor construction, painting, and preventive maintenance of NHG facilities.
  • Conduct inspections of lodging operations, identifying problems and implementing corrective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, fire, and sanitation regulations.
  • Develop and administer operating and equipment budgets in conjunction with NHG Headquarters.
  • Maintain accountability for safeguarding all funds and provide financial plans to meet program goals.
  • Utilize NHG Property Management System for guest information and reservation analytics.
  • Market the NHG program using technology and local resources to promote lodging availability.
  • Supervise associates, ensuring adequate staffing and training according to NHG standards.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in administrative, technical, or responsible work related to operational practices and procedures.
  • 3 years of general experience in operational management or related fields.
  • 2 years of specialized experience in hotel/motel or institutional management.
  • Knowledge of procurement, operational efficiency, sanitation, internal finance controls, budgeting, and staffing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the NHG Property Management System (PMS) and Enterprise Inventory Management System (CORE-HMS).
  • Background in customer service and guest relations in a hospitality setting.
