Responsibilities

• Assists the Plant Operations Leader in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives affecting their assigned area
• Provides leadership, support, and guidance to employees and ensures the goals and objectives of the organization are met
• Communicates the status of production performance, projects, and initiatives across the business
• Achieves optimum team performance impacting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and development
• Takes initiative to improve the manufacturing facility and establishes procedures for maintaining high operation standards, ensuring products conform to established customer and company quality regulations and guidelines
• Implements manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization to improve its competitive position and profitability in the market
• Oversees the performance of production employees
• Partners closely with other department leaders (Human Resources, Finance, Engineering, etc.) to drive effective plant operations
• Initiates and coordinates major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
• Stays current on technology and leading manufacturing practices
• Performs additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 5 years of leadership/supervisory experience or sufficient and relevant work experience

Nice-to-haves

• 4 years' experience in the plastic or chemical industry
• 3 years of leadership/supervisory experience of medium to large teams
• Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean training
• Leadership experience within manufacturing facilities
• Relevant master's degree or equivalent work experience
