About the position

The Night Shift Data Center Facility Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems within Amazon's data centers in northern Virginia. This position ensures the reliability and availability of data center operations, manages a team of Engineering Operations Technicians, and coordinates with third-party vendors to meet service level agreements. The role requires a strong technical background in electrical and mechanical systems, as well as the ability to manage budgets and drive improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Execute the InfraOps vision and goals
• Engage in improvement projects, driving them from conception to completion
• Coordinate daily with third-party vendors to ensure adherence to contracted SLAs
• Manage the operations budget and expenditures effectively
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs
• Coordinate change management resources
• Provide weekly reports to the Data Center DCEO Cluster Manager
• Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
• Maintain the on-call schedule coordinating absence and vacations of direct reports
• Recruit and train technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years of leading a team of technical professionals in a 24x7 mission critical environment
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with polygraph
