The role involves acting in lieu of the regular classroom teacher and performing the duties as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor. The substitute teacher is responsible for completing the duties and tasks of the absent teacher, managing classroom behavior, and maintaining an environment conducive to good learning. This includes following lesson plans provided by the teacher, checking the class roll, and notifying the school office of any serious problems experienced during the day. The substitute must also adhere to the Substitute Teacher handbook and be flexible in covering different assignments as needed.
