About the position

The Manager - North America Claims Operations at AIG is a pivotal role focused on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of claims operations. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements, ensuring a seamless claims handling experience for clients. The role emphasizes understanding business challenges, facilitating process workshops, and providing strategic guidance to optimize operations and support compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with North America Claims and supporting functions to lead initiatives addressing complex business problems.
  • Focus on process improvements and design targeting operational efficiencies.
  • Examine existing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and facilitate process workshops.
  • Document business requirements and coordinate change management activities.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand business goals and pain points.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on best practices and process improvement strategies.
  • Provide SME support to business and assist in resolving system issues.
  • Partner with Compliance, Audit, Claims, and IT to support SOX and SOC1 testing findings.
  • Analyze current business processes, identify bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Document cross-functional business process mapping and business requirements.
  • Conduct data analytics to qualify and quantify benefit opportunities.
  • Track, measure, and report process performance and efficiency post-implementation.
  • Develop and present actionable recommendations to enhance process efficiency.
  • Identify and communicate risks & issues, proposing risk mitigation options.
  • Support in data mapping and system/data integration opportunities.
  • Assist in designing change management plans for successful implementation of process improvements.
  • Support and direct system enhancements that improve business processes and reduce operational costs.
  • Provide project coordination support for IT modernization initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain end user quick reference guides and training material.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of insurance experience, preferably in process engineering, data analysis, Claims Operations, and TPA Operations.
  • Experience with Compliance, Risk and Controls, and Project Management is beneficial.
  • Ability to understand and communicate business requirements.
  • Process optimization experience to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Strong skills in data acquisitions and analytics, with SQL skills as a plus.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and process mapping experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for technical topics.
  • Creative problem solver with strong analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong IT systems experience, including requirements building.
  • Experience with SharePoint and Rally is beneficial.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to self-direct and meet deadlines.
