About the position

The Clumpies Shop Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of a Clumpies Ice Cream shop, ensuring our high expectations for guest service and guest experience are upheld. Under the direction of the Director of Independent Foods, the Clumpies Ice Cream Shop Manager is responsible for performing the following duties:

Responsibilities

  • Delivers excellent guest service to internal and external customers in line with the organization’s mission, culture, and values.
  • Models appropriate guest and partner interaction at all times, displaying the values of the culture of excellence and leading in a manner that serves as an organizational model for the values.
  • Upholds See Rock City Inc.’s employment policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the creation of a shop’s budget and ensures that the shop operates within the defined parameters of its budget.
  • Monitors cash handling procedures, monitors weekly sales reports and works with accounting to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Reviews monthly financial documents, providing feedback to the Director of Independent Foods.
  • Conducts monthly sales review, noting trends for discussion with the Director of Independent Foods.
  • Approves weekly payroll for their designated Clumpies shop.
  • Completes and submits monthly expense reports for approval by the Director of Independent Foods.
  • Submits I.T. support tickets, maintenance requests, operational requests, facilities requests, and garden requests on behalf of their shop.
  • Oversees the training of new partners in the Clumpies shop.
  • Ensures proper opening, shift-change, and closing procedures are adhered to by partners.
  • Conducts regularly planned shop-wide team meetings in collaboration with the Director of Independent Foods.
  • Conducts weekly quality walks for the shop and discusses areas for opportunity with partners.
  • Meets regularly with shop leadership, providing support as needed to resolve partner and guest service issues.
  • Creates weekly schedule for partners in Paylocity, approves and manages time off requests in Paylocity.
  • Coaches, counsels, and disciplines Clumpies partners as needed.
  • Completes status reports, performance feedback, partner assessments, and opportunity requests in a timely manner.
  • Ensures health codes and safety standards are followed in order to maintain a high health score by ensuring Clumpies staff are properly trained in food and workplace safety.
  • Orders, receives, and monitors inventory.
  • Conducts monthly inventory counts and reconciles discrepancies with the Clumpies Inventory Coordinator and accounting.
  • Coordinates select special events in the shop under the supervision of the Director of Independent Foods.
  • Coordinates with Clumpies production kitchen on new product rollouts and training materials.
  • Monitors Mystery Shop program results, training partners on opportunities, and promoting growth areas within the defined time frames.
  • Communicates with the marketing department on shop-specific needs with the collaboration of the Director of Independent Foods.
  • Communicates and maintains good relations with vendors/suppliers, landlords, and other tenants.
  • Ensures the timely communication of company-wide information.
  • Performs cashier duties, serves guests, and prepares food as needed.
  • Attends monthly Management Meetings and Lunch & Learn.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Management, or a related field of study.
  • A minimum of one year(s) experience in retail management and/or a food service management environment is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Coordination and Team Leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and oversee others.
  • Ability to lead up to 25 partners.
  • Recipient of Serv Safe Certification or ability to obtain certification if expired.
  • Possess a kind personality, the desire to contribute to a great team, and a willingness to learn or improve skills.
  • Ability to display a professional, engaging, and polite image to guests and team partners.
  • Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and small group situations, knowing that your feedback and input is important to the team.
  • Must possess proficient computer skills and be proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and understand operational documents.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced, efficient environment.
  • Must possess a current driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
  • Ability to provide a flexible schedule to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
  • Required to use hands and fingers regularly. Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Requires frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Must be able to stand regularly.
