About The Position

This position is for a healthcare professional, specifically a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, who will work in an outpatient setting. The role involves performing physical assessments, conducting preventive health screenings, educating patients and their families, and maintaining accurate patient records. The professional will also perform medical procedures and identify ways to improve outpatient care.

Requirements

• Master Degree in Nursing or Master Degree in Physician Assistant studies required.
• Valid NC RN and Nurse Midwife or NP license OR NC PA license required.
• Board Certified within 1 year of date of hire by either the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PAs OR the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the National Certification Corporation (NCC) for NPs OR the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) or The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) required.
• BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol (NRP) Certification required for Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers.
• IVC Certified within 90 days of employment for Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Provider required.

• 3+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical assessments of the patient in an outpatient setting.
• Reviews patient medical history and interprets diagnostic tests/results to provide effective treatment.
• Conducts preventive health screenings based on the patient's age, history, and unique needs.
• Educates patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up.
• Maintains records of all patient care across primary care offices to ensure accurate patient history.
• Performs medical procedures in accordance with departmental guidelines and clinical roles as necessary.
• Identifies ways to improve outpatient care by assessing, problem-solving, and evaluating clinical and system issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
