Nuclear Engineer I Civil/Structural - Intern

About the position

Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. is seeking candidates for a position in civil (structural) engineering. The successful candidate will be involved in various projects that require a strong understanding of industry codes and standards. The role demands excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office software. The position may involve working on multiple projects concurrently, necessitating effective time management skills. Candidates must be prepared to comply with company policies and procedures, and will be required to pass security and drug screenings to maintain unescorted access to nuclear plant sites. The job may also require travel to client sites and involves physical demands such as climbing ladders and entering confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of industry codes including ACI, AISC, and ASCE 7.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and processes.
• Pass security and drug screening.
• Travel to client sites for field and office work.
• Perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 3.0 GPA in civil (structural) engineering from an accredited engineering program.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry codes including ACI, AISC, and ASCE 7.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Effective time management skills.
• Ability to pass security and drug screening.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and entering confined spaces.
