About the position

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist at St. Vincent Medical Center is responsible for coordinating and participating in the examination and treatment of patients using radionuclides, adhering to NRC regulations under the guidance of a radiologist. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of nuclear medicine practices and the ability to provide care tailored to patients of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and participate in patient examinations and treatments using radionuclides.
  • Ensure compliance with NRC regulations under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for patient care appropriate to their age.
  • Employ safe operation principles of nuclear medicine equipment and radionuclide administration.
  • Maintain knowledge of hospital procedures, including infection control.
  • Position patients accurately and apply established technical factors scientifically.
  • Utilize proper body mechanics for the transportation, transfer, and positioning of patients and equipment.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved JRC program.
  • Ohio Licensure required.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiological Technologists) (N) or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) certification required.
  • Registered Nuclear Technologist or nuclear experience preferred.
  • Current BLS CPR Card required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in nuclear medicine technology.
  • Participation in educational programs as per department policy.
