About the position

The Numerical Control Analyst II plays a crucial role in translating product definitions and process engineering information into computerized formats, enabling the production of complex programs for various types of Numerical Control (N/C) equipment. This position involves project administration duties related to N/C projects, ensuring that all programming and operational needs are met efficiently and effectively. The analyst will work under direction to define and develop moderate programs and procedures using a variety of programming languages tailored for machining, inspection, or other manufacturing applications. In addition to programming, the role includes supporting the development and maintenance of post-processor applications for the N/C equipment in use. The analyst will also be responsible for maintaining vericut simulation software, which is essential for simulating machining processes and ensuring accuracy before actual production. Furthermore, the position involves providing support for the procurement of numerical control equipment, which includes development, testing, and implementation phases to ensure that the equipment meets the operational requirements of the business. The role requires a strong understanding of N/C machining and inspection processes, as well as the ability to manage assignments or projects independently. The analyst must be adaptable to various working conditions, including remote, hybrid, or on-site work, as determined by management and business needs. Regular and reliable attendance is emphasized as an essential function of this job, along with the ability to travel as needed, although travel is expected to be minimal (0-10%).

Responsibilities

  • Translate product definition and process engineering information into computerized formats for N/C equipment.
  • Define and develop moderate programs and procedures in various programming languages for machining and inspection applications.
  • Support the development and maintenance of post-processor applications for N/C equipment.
  • Maintain vericut simulation software to ensure accurate machining simulations.
  • Provide support for the procurement of numerical control equipment through development, testing, and implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related degree, or two additional years of direct work experience in N/C equipment programming.
  • Minimum of four years of N/C programming experience on various types of N/C equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage N/C assignments or projects.
  • Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance if required.
