About the position

The Nursing Assistant position at Henry Ford Health involves providing basic, age-appropriate nursing care to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the provision of patient care by performing basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Assist with patient hygiene activities such as bathing, foot care, and hair care.
  • Support patient mobility activities including ambulation and transfers.
  • Monitor and report patient pain levels and comfort.
  • Obtain and document patient-related information, including vital signs and intake/output records.
  • Assist with preparation of patients for surgery and special procedures.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and co-workers by recognizing unsafe conditions and taking appropriate action.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and comply with department policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid LPN license (if applicable)
  • Valid BLS Certification obtained within 3 months of hire
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 6 months of acute care Nurse Aide or Patient Care Technician experience, or completion of the first year of clinical rotation in a nursing program.
