Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of patient care functions as assigned under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.
• Demonstrate proficiency in nursing skills and competencies.
• Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
• Participate in problem identification and resolution in collaboration with the Registered Nurse.
• Prioritize work assignments to ensure completion of patient care activities.
• Document patient care activities accurately and legibly.
• Observe and report changes in patient conditions to the Registered Nurse.
• Transport patients and equipment safely throughout the medical center.
• Practice customer service standards and respond promptly to patient requests.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.

Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year experience as a Nursing Attendant in an acute hospital or similar setting.
• State Certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of a Nursing Attendant course.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in Spanish preferred for some positions.
• Willingness to float to other areas within scope of competency.
• Training on computer systems may be expected.
