About the position

The Nursing Station Technician at M Health Fairview's Lakes Medical Center plays a crucial role in supporting patient care within the Float Pool. This position involves assisting with various patient care tasks, performing receptionist duties, and maintaining the nursing station and patient care areas. The role is designed for individuals seeking diverse experiences across multiple units, including Medical Surgical, ICU, and Birthplace inpatient units, fostering a supportive environment for professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and daily living activities (ADLs).
• Perform receptionist duties at the nursing station.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas.
• Facilitate room turnover for incoming patients.
• Audit and maintain unit supplies to ensure availability.
• Coordinate activities at the nursing station to support patient care staff.
• Manage medical record flow and patient care charts.
• Provide outstanding customer service to patients and families.
• Perform other tasks as needed to support the team.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
• Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program, or
• Six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting, or
• Current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program with completion of one semester of clinical rotation, or
• Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.
