About the position

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position at Amberwell Health involves providing essential occupational therapy services under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR). Additionally, the COTA will contribute to the supervision of subordinates, including aides and students, and participate in various departmental duties and projects to enhance the overall effectiveness of the therapy department. The position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to manage stress effectively while making decisions under pressure. The COTA will work with a diverse patient population, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, which necessitates a flexible approach to therapy and communication. The role also involves exposure to various working conditions, including potential exposure to communicable diseases and blood or body fluids, which requires adherence to safety protocols and guidelines. In addition to direct patient care, the COTA will engage in ongoing professional development and may be involved in departmental projects aimed at improving service delivery and patient outcomes. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 2 year/Associate Degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Current Kansas license or eligibility to practice as a COTA.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance.
