About the position

This position will be based at our Halifax Fertilizer location in Enfield, NC. The Office Administrator assists in operating the main office, providing exceptional customer service to all vendors and patrons. Duties include customer service, public relations, general office operations, and some accounting. This position will report to the Plant Manager. The pay is up to $24.00 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides outstanding, friendly customer service to all customers over the phone and in person.
  • Performs secretarial duties involved in filing, organizing, and ordering supplies for the office.
  • Reconciles Daily Invoices for DCRS by running reports, locating invoices, and processing them.
  • Handles A/P Expense Accounts for the location, ensuring backups and signatures are obtained for processing.
  • Keeps records of equipment and invoices to track expenses.
  • Generates POs for Animal Health, Bulk Feed, and Hardware, orders stock, and receives products.
  • Maintains communication with suppliers for best deals and sends backups for payment.
  • Works with Excel to keep records of Petty Cash Fund, Fuel reports, and reimbursement reports.
  • Assists customers with questions on accounts and applies invoices to John Deere Accounts when necessary.
  • Assists with any overflow of work or customers when needed.
  • Assists with inventory counts and finds ways to eliminate negative variances.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2-year experience in administrative/receptionist field.
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft software including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, visitors, customers, and vendors.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently while being a team member.
  • Organized, efficient, creative, and capable of implementing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand company policies.
