About the position

The Office Clerk at Erie Elementary Charter School is responsible for performing a variety of office support tasks to ensure smooth daily operations. This role serves as the first point of contact for families and guests, handling inquiries, managing student records, and supporting school-wide communication efforts. The Office Clerk plays a vital role in maintaining a welcoming environment and ensuring accurate information flow within the school community.

Responsibilities

  • Greet families and guests, serving as the first point of service-focused contact.
  • Answer telephones and respond to routine inquiries in a courteous manner.
  • Coordinate parent requests for student early dismissal and transportation changes.
  • Handle intake forms including enrollment and health forms in conjunction with the enrollment specialist.
  • Maintain and audit accurate attendance records and input tardies/excused absences.
  • Monitor security cameras to ensure student safety.
  • Reach out to families regarding student absences and key announcements.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
  • Schedule appointments and meetings for teachers and staff.
  • Sell school uniforms and manage related record keeping.
  • Ensure office materials are organized and accessible.
  • Compile and maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation of parent/family newsletters and notices.
  • Maintain school postings and newsletters on the website.
  • Deliver mass phone, email, and text messages to families as needed.
  • Support student recruitment efforts and assist with lottery preparation.
  • Assist with new student/parent orientation and record transfers.
  • Maintain the completeness and accuracy of all student records.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
  • Excellent computer proficiency including Google Suite and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • 2+ years of customer service experience, preferably in a school setting.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Powerschool and ASPEN preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree preferred.
  • Pass criminal background checks.
