About the position

The Office Manager for the State Farm Insurance Agency is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the office, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. This role involves managing office staff, enhancing productivity through administrative procedures, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service in a friendly, small office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage office staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Answer telephone calls and emails to assist customers with general inquiries and direct specific inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Manage general service and office operations.
  • Implement administrative procedures and systems to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Assist with human resources tasks, including onboarding and training new employees and managing personnel records.
  • Coordinate weekly team meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with office policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience
  • Detail-oriented
  • Computer skills, ability to learn and master company software programs

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to assess customer needs and identify gaps in coverage
  • Property & Casualty license (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
  • Life & Health license (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire)
  • Proven experience in team management and supervising staff
  • Excellent administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Exceptional phone etiquette, communication, and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office
  • Trustworthy, strong work ethic, team player

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience servicing and selling insurance products
  • Office management or insurance industry experience strongly preferred
