About the position

The LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) provides essential care to patients, ensuring their developmental needs are met while adhering to the standards set by the Department of Nursing and hospital policies. This role involves direct patient interaction, assessment, and education, all under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete assessment data collection on all patients under the supervision of an RN and/or provider.
• Assess and reassess pain, educating the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Observe and identify adverse changes in patient condition, notifying the appropriate RN and/or provider.
• Maintain current knowledge of medications and their correct administration.
• Interact professionally with patients and families, involving them in patient education.
• Clean and operate equipment correctly.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Current New York State Practical Nursing Registration.
• CPR certification.
