About the position

EAG is seeking an Oil and Gas Revenue Regulatory Analyst to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on providing analytical and regulatory support within the oil and gas industry, particularly in relation to severance tax returns and compliance with regulatory obligations. The analyst will work closely with clients and taxing authorities, ensuring accurate data reconciliation and effective communication of tax issues. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients and/or taxing authorities, prepare correspondence, complete data reconciliation, prepare analysis, and filings.
  • Preparation, analysis & Technical support of severance tax returns with attention to detail.
  • Processing Prior Period Adjustments and filing amended returns.
  • Proficient use of state and governmental databases.
  • Communicate and interact with external contacts at Regulatory & Taxing Authorities.
  • Research and analyze state severance tax issues and communicate to management and clients.
  • Implement efficiencies to streamline and ensure accurate account reconciliations and Journal Entries.
  • Understand and adhere to established internal controls as well as identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform and adhere to SOX and SOC Controls.
  • Demonstrate a high level of personal motivation to work independently and as part of a team, showing organizational skills and a willingness to take on significant responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of recent tax processing, concepts, calculations, reporting, and payment obligations of GLO, ONRR, and Ute Indian Tribe regulatory obligations.
  • Strong knowledge of the development, planning & execution of regulatory tax refund claims.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with one or more of the following systems: OGSys, W Energy, Enertia, & Bolo.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
  • Must be eligible to work for ANY employer in the United States.
