About the position

The OnDemand/Dispatch (IT Support) position is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to AMD employees and contractors. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting various operating systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT services in a collaborative environment. The position requires strong communication skills and technical expertise in a range of IT support areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for x86/x64 hardware platforms, Windows 10, MacOS, Apple iOS, and Android mobile OS.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to COTS based applications and conflicts.
  • Perform manual imaging and re-imaging of devices as needed.
  • Support audio/video conferencing equipment and conduct health checks for conference support.
  • Respond to incidents and provide smart-hands support for IT issues.
  • Conduct laptop/desktop repairs and whole unit replacements as necessary.
  • Verify system faults and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Assist with business application support and provide customer relations support.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented, global environment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in information technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 2+ years of IT Support experience.
  • Strong technical skills in supporting various hardware and software platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with employees and contractors at all levels.
  • Experience working in a global company and with 3rd party vendors.
  • Technical knowledge in network switching devices, firewalls, servers, and storage subsystems.
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic utilities and core applications, including PC diagnostics and security endpoint protection software.
  • Experience in an Active Directory environment including SCCM.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Mac OS X and JAMF.
  • Knowledge of navigating 3rd party vendor applications and websites.
