About the position

Xerox Holdings Corporation has been redefining the workplace experience for over 100 years. The Onsite Webster Consumables Manufacturing Plant (W224) Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining daily operations in the QC lab, collaborating with both the industrial workforce and equipment onsite. This position involves data analysis, trend identification, equipment upkeep, non-conforming material investigations, and collaboration with product delivery teams. The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the Quality Management System conforms to ISO-9001 standards and includes internal auditing of processes and procedures. They also ensure that all supplemental testing is completed for products that require it, and they send Certificates of Analysis data and Post Ship Audit samples to customers in a timely manner. Additionally, the Quality Engineer helps train and guide quality assurance lab personnel, maintains lab equipment, follows up on non-conforming material records, and works closely with operations and engineering teams to address manufacturing quality issues. The role also involves fostering a continuous improvement environment and utilizing statistical process control tools to assess product and process capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Quality Management System conforming to ISO-9001 standards and conduct internal audits.
  • Ensure all supplemental testing is completed for products that require it.
  • Send Certificates of Analysis data and Post Ship Audit samples to customers in a timely manner.
  • Train and guide quality assurance lab personnel, providing feedback and direction.
  • Ensure lab equipment is well maintained and reliable for production measurements.
  • Follow up on Non-Conforming Material Records (NCMR) for both plant and supplier produced materials.
  • Work closely with operations and engineering teams to determine root causes and generate corrective actions for manufacturing quality issues.
  • Collaborate with packaging engineering and suppliers to address supplier quality issues.
  • Interface with Product Delivery Teams for timely disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Efficiently segregate on-hold material inventory and reintroduce materials released for use or rework.
  • Facilitate and monitor PMCs for process changes or new incoming products.
  • Support investigation of customer complaints.
  • Foster a continuous improvement environment and practice lean manufacturing.
  • Maintain proper document control, ensuring the latest versions of procedures are available.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) tools to assess product and process capabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a BS degree in a Technical Discipline/Engineering relevant
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in field or related area
  • Lean six sigma or DfLSS Greenbelt Certification preferred
  • Demonstrated use of LSS tools in process setting with knowledge/experience using SPC and Lean Methodology
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure team environment
  • Follows disciplined work processes and has high ethical standards
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with partners and customers
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good conflict resolution skills
