About the position

The University of Texas at Dallas is seeking applications for open rank tenure-system faculty positions in Bioengineering and/or Biomedical Engineering within the Health Innovations research thrust. This role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research, and engaging in service within the university and professional community. Candidates from related disciplines are also encouraged to apply, and the position is set to commence in the fall semester of 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and teach undergraduate and/or graduate classes in biomedical engineering.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and engage students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Establish and/or continue an independent line of research in Bioengineering or related fields.
  • Mentor and/or advise undergraduate and/or graduate students.
  • Contribute assessment information and data as requested.
  • Engage in service within the academic unit, the university, and the profession as appropriate based on teaching and research constraints.
  • Teach three (3) classes each academic year.

Requirements

  • A PhD or equivalent in Bioengineering/Biomedical Engineering or a related field is required prior to employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to produce research and scholarly achievements that enhance the program and discipline.
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary teams is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Research focus in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, and/or Neural Engineering.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring students in higher education.
