About the position

The position is responsible for executing various store operation standards and procedures to maintain product quality, food and physical safety, and inventory stock levels. The role involves executing merchandising plans, indirectly managing store sales and profits, and promoting customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Train and develop partners in conjunction with upper management.
  • Schedule, plan, assign, and direct work for store operations.
  • Review historical data regarding sales, ads, and promotions with upper management.
  • Co-manage inventory to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels.
  • Review profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data with upper management.
  • Maintain and improve sales performance, cash flow, public relations, product quality, and work standards.
  • Open/close the store as required and ensure a presentable shopping experience.
  • Ensure adequate staff availability and manage safety and fiscal responsibilities.
  • Follow quality control and food safety standards across departments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary working environment.
  • Implement loss prevention and shrink reduction strategies.
  • Execute effective merchandising plans to increase sales through displays and promotions.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and enforce customer engagement standards.

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of retail grocery store operations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Workforce Management (WFM).
  • Basic understanding of cash register and checkout policies.
  • Basic knowledge of state laws regarding the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery.
  • Basic knowledge of anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of on-site fuel station procedures, if applicable.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to remain professional and courteous with customers.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to carry out short-term strategic objectives aligned with company initiatives.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to evaluate partner performance and make corrections as needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems and processes.
  • Ability to perform basic Microsoft Office functions.
  • Ability to safely work with sharp objects.
  • Ability to operate manual or electric pallet jack.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
