About the position

As an Operations Manager at Riggs Distler & Company, Inc., you will lead the Northeast Drilling & Foundation Line of Business, providing managerial direction and leadership to ensure profitable growth. This role involves overseeing multiple branch offices and project locations, fostering a safe and innovative work environment, and driving continuous improvement in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
  • Support sales and marketing activities for projects and pursuits.
  • Responsible for client maintenance and coordination.
  • Assist with and lead technical aspects of proposal efforts including hour estimates.
  • Serve as the technical advisor, providing senior-level input and evaluation on transmission engineering projects.
  • Perform annual SWOT analysis of the department and provide input into the annual Transmission Business Plan.
  • May serve as project manager for key technical projects where required.
  • Drive a culture focused on safety and compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • Lead a dynamic department with a focus on creating an atmosphere and environment for all.
  • Develop and foster an innovation culture that challenges the norm and utilizes tools, technology, and processes to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Recommend changes in basic structure and organization of the group to ensure effective fulfillment of objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience in Transmission, Distribution, and Substation drilling and foundation operations.
  • Demonstrated technical ability in transmission engineering design.
  • Previous personnel management experience is preferred.
  • Proven leadership in developing and implementing vision that has brought a positive impact.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence, lead, and manage change thoughtfully and positively.
  • Possess strong strategic perspective of the industry.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Ability to solve multi-layered complex resource, projects, and/or performance challenges.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, poise, and discernment.
