About the position

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to the build plan including methods and techniques, sequence of steps, tool plans, layouts, etc.
  • Responsible for keeping up with industry best practices and implementing them within operations.
  • Develop labor hour estimates as well as tooling and build concepts for new bid proposals.
  • Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines.
  • Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions.
  • Coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required.
  • Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles.
  • Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff.

Requirements

  • 5-9 years of experience (OR a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience) in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • High level of understanding of composites and manufacturing.
  • Experience with Continuous improvement.
  • Strong listening skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, navigate through 3-D engineering models).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred not required.
  • Industry experience a plus.
  • SAP experience is a plus; SAP is utilized daily.
  • Manufacturing/shop floor experience is preferred.
  • Lean and Six Sigma experience.
  • Understands RCCA process, can prepare a business case, process improvements.
