About The Position

At Quincy Medical Group, we offer a variety of multiple-specialty healthcare services, including branch and rural clinics throughout West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri regions. Quincy Medical Group's Eye & Vision Institute consists of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and opticians that offer vision tests, glasses or contact lenses, screenings for eye diseases, diagnosis, and treatment of most eye conditions. Our team includes 5 ophthalmologists and 8 optometrists, 4 in our Quincy location and 4 in Hannibal. The incoming physician will work a 5-day work week (M-F), with options for a 4-day work week, seeing anywhere from 300-450 patients per month in clinic and performing surgery at the new outpatient surgical facility owned by Quincy Medical Group. Anticipate 2 surgery days per week. One day per week, the incoming physician will spend time at the Hannibal location, which is 20 minutes from Quincy. Cases are primarily comprehensive ophthalmology including cataracts, cornea, diabetic retinopathy, eyelid procedures, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and medical retina, with a patient mix that is mostly adults but open to scheduling children if the incoming physician is interested. Each physician will have three dedicated rooms and a tenured support staff in place. Office equipment includes YAG laser, OCT, Visual Field, Fundus Photography, Auto Refraction, IOL Master, Fluorescein, and Pentacam. Lasik is not currently performed but can be an option if desired. The call schedule is 1:5, meaning the incoming physician will be on call for Blessing Hospital every 5th weekend, with call mostly consisting of phone calls and not considered onerous. Enjoy a strong compensation package greater than the 75th percentile, with many physicians over the 90th percentile. A $40,000 sign-on bonus and $20,000 moving expense reimbursement is included.
