Optometric Assistant

About the position

The Optometric Assistant at VisionWorks plays a crucial role in providing an exceptional patient experience within the eye care industry. This position involves assisting patients through their initial eye exam journey, ensuring they receive the necessary information and support throughout the process. The Optometric Assistant is responsible for maintaining patient records, conducting preliminary testing, and facilitating communication between patients and optometrists, all while contributing to the operational efficiency of the store's exam lane.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
• Introduce patients to the Optometrist and provide them with important patient information.
• Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with necessary information to educate and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs.
• Execute day-to-day operational activities to support the store's exam lane maintenance and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.

Requirements

• Related customer or patient experience preferred, but not necessary.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
