About The Position

Virginia Eye Consultants is adding an Optometrist to our busy, well-established group of ophthalmologists, working collaboratively to provide multi-specialty services to the Hampton Roads area and surrounding communities. Our optometrists play an important role in the community by coordinating care while maintaining excellent relationships with all medical care team partners, both inside and outside the practice. We are seeking a highly qualified optometrist who will play a vital role in providing patient care in our growing practices. Manage challenging complex ocular pathology with a focus entirely on medical optometry with no refractive component. Ophthalmology and Optometry to comanage patients as a cohesive unit. A full support staff including scribes to complete all tasks allows the focus to be on patient care. We tailor your practice towards your interests. We offer the opportunity to mentor/teach students and residents.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid state optometry license
  • Experience in managing complex ocular conditions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a multi-specialty practice
  • Familiarity with proprietary EHR systems
  • Interest in teaching or mentoring
