About The Position

The Optometrist at Southwest Orlando Eye Care will conduct comprehensive eye exams and provide patient care to enhance the practice's growth. This role emphasizes building long-term relationships with patients through education and personalized care, while practicing to the full capacity of their license.

Requirements

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams for patients.
• Establish long-term patient relationships through proper care and education.
• Perform verbal interviews with patients to determine health and ocular history.
• Instruct, recommend, and advise patients on remediation options for ametropias and ocular diseases.
• Hand-off patients to support staff with recap discussions.
• Generate patient loyalty and promote the profession of Optometry.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose sight problems and eye diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
• Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery.
• Evaluate patients for diseases such as diabetes and refer them to other healthcare providers.
• Promote eye health by counseling patients on contact lens care and eye examination frequency.
