About the position

The Oracle Database Administrator Sr role is a contractual position focused on managing and supporting Oracle databases. The position requires extensive experience in leading Oracle projects, validating new versions of Oracle and operating systems, and possessing expert knowledge in various Oracle database management areas. The role is hybrid, allowing work from both Pittsburgh, PA and Phoenix, AZ, and emphasizes strong project management skills alongside technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems.
• Direct others in coding logical and physical database descriptions.
• Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project.
• Review and approve database development and determine project scope and limitations.
• Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
• Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 5 years of Oracle database support experience.
• Experience with Multitenant Architecture and RAC.
• Solid understanding of Golden Gate, Data Guard, EUS, FSFO, TDE.
• Experience configuring and supporting active/active configurations.
• Experience migrating large databases.
• Experience patching Oracle databases and Grid Infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Oracle Recovery Appliances (backup and recovery).
• Strong scripting skills.
• Extensive experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager administration, including OMS and agent patching, target discovery/management, OEM performance troubleshooting and user management.
