Oracle Database Administrator

About the position

We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator with a dynamic work schedule that includes 5 days on-site a month, with the remainder of the month working from home. Candidates have the flexibility to fly or drive into the office as needed. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Oracle 19c and a strong background in database performance tuning and cloud migration.

Responsibilities

• Perform applications database administration (Oracle) services including SQL code review, performance analysis, query tuning, database application design, physical data modeling, development support & Engineering.
• Set up, install, and manage multisite databases using Oracle Goldengate replication.
• Provide database support in all phases of SDLC and participate in agile processes.
• Participate in a 24X7 on-call rotation schedule for production support, database maintenance, housekeeping, and installs.
• Work with enterprise teams for Systems Administrators, Cyber Security, and Capacity Planning as needed.
• Establish database standards for operations, upgrades, migrations, and onboarding new applications and/or clients.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Oracle 19c - current
• Database performance tuning (SQL tuning)
• Some exposure to cloud migration (AWS) - highly desirable
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent desirable
• Experience with cloud database platforms on Linux environments
• Strong time leadership skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects/initiatives
• Self-motivated with strong team, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Advanced skills in SQL Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid control (OEM 12c), Linux shell scripting, and writing database monitoring jobs in PL/SQL.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong Linux shell scripting experience preferred
• Ability to quickly diagnose problem areas and develop solutions or workarounds
• Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain a flexible attitude
• Ability to develop and drive database administration strategies and initiatives as per the needs of the team.
