About the position

The position is designed to address the backlog of planned and unplanned work requests that have exceeded capacity. The selected candidate will supplement the existing team by focusing on writing system documentation, which includes business requirements, test plans, process flows, and configuration documentation. Additionally, the role involves writing User Stories, coordinating testing, and managing small to medium-sized projects. The initial focus will be on the Benefits and Payroll areas, with potential rotation into Recruiting, Talent Management, and Core HCM for various projects. In this role, the individual will be responsible for creating business requirements documents for reporting and systems development projects, production reporting, and special projects. This includes collecting business requirements from users, creating related documentation, managing projects, leading or assisting with user acceptance testing, providing user support, and conducting systems training for departmental users. The position requires collaboration with stakeholders and project team members on projects that impact business users, processes, and systems to identify business needs and solutions. The candidate will facilitate collaboration activities with both business and technical stakeholders to engineer requirements while ensuring compliance with corporate standards. This includes developing flow diagrams, use cases, user stories, and other forms of business documentation. The role also involves responding to production support issues, assisting with the development of test plans and strategies, and creating materials to facilitate the adoption of change by end users, including policies, procedures, training materials, and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Create business requirements documents for reporting and systems development projects.
  • Collect business requirements from users and create related documentation.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects and coordinate testing events.

Requirements

  • 4 or more years of demonstrated experience in business analysis or business systems analysis.
  • Applied knowledge of practices and principles associated with financial services.
  • Strong applied knowledge of system development methodologies, primarily Agile (SAFE) and Waterfall.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, primarily Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of project management processes and tools.
  • Ability to establish attainable goals and work plans in collaborative environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to analyze a wide variety of facts and develop appropriate recommendations.
  • Experience in organizing and coordinating small to medium projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business or business systems.
  • Experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
  • Experience with SaaS application development and support, particularly Oracle HCM Cloud.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment applying Lean Agile practices and principles.
