About the position

The Margin Operations role within Citi Markets Operations is crucial for mitigating credit risk and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position involves managing the end-to-end margining process, overseeing collateral optimization, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external clients. The successful candidate will lead a team, implement key performance indicators, and drive simplification and transformation of operational platforms to enhance efficiency and control.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of about 5 to 6 direct staff and 10+ off-shore indirect team members.
  • Manage an effective and robust end-to-end control framework that meets Audit, Compliance, and Regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the infrastructure and tools are in place to manage risk and service clients to a high standard.
  • Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources, exercising control over policy formulation and planning.
  • Manage complex issues associated with collateral and margin with significant potential impact across multiple operations areas.
  • Build effective relationships with clients and facilitate, influence, and enable change.
  • Present data and analyze/validate to develop value-added solutions to increase productivity and efficiencies, particularly in collateral and margin.
  • Accountable for the integrity of process, operations, and end results.
  • Implement a successful risk/control environment related to collateral and margin processes.
  • Utilize exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships and influence at senior levels.
  • Lead by example in support of organizational initiatives, exhibiting in-depth knowledge of products and issues.
  • Assess risk when making business decisions, safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • People management experience (direct staff).
  • Significant experience within the financial industry.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive leadership skills.
  • Strong, influential communication skills, with success interacting with senior management.
  • Strong risk management and control mindset.
  • Ability to provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complex situations.
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results-oriented.
  • Ability to establish and build trust with professionals throughout the business.
