About the position

The Outside Parts Salesperson is responsible for generating sales of heavy-duty truck parts by developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers in the assigned territory. This role requires a highly motivated individual with strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck parts and excellent sales abilities, working directly with fleet managers, independent truck operators, and service departments to provide solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow an assigned customer base by consistently meeting and exceeding the parts needs.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the territory and develop strategies to increase market penetration.
  • Provide exceptional service and ensure that customers receive accurate information regarding parts availability, pricing, and lead times.
  • Regularly visit customers on-site, understanding their requirements, and ensuring that our dealership is their preferred partner for truck parts.
  • Process and follow through on customer orders, ensuring timely delivery and satisfaction.
  • Track sales activities, customer interactions, and order histories through CRM or other tools provided by the company.
  • Work closely with the Parts Department, Service Department, and Truck Sales to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Address customer issues, complaints, and returns efficiently, maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Stay up-to-date on new parts, industry trends, and market conditions to provide informed recommendations to customers.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in heavy-duty truck parts sales, preferably with Peterbilt or a similar brand.
  • Strong understanding of aftermarket truck parts and their applications.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your time and workload effectively.
  • Ability to travel regularly within an assigned territory.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with parts sales in a dealership setting.
  • Technical knowledge of Peterbilt trucks and Paccar parts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
