About the position

The Outside Sales Account Manager for Government Solutions is responsible for managing an established portfolio of Federal/SLED customers, focusing on Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) sales. This role involves driving profitable sales growth by prospecting new accounts, retaining existing customers, and expanding opportunities within the Tampa/St. Petersburg territory. The position requires consistent day travel and occasional overnight travel, with a competitive base salary and monthly sales incentives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers across all levels of an organization.
  • Manage sales volume with existing customers while actively prospecting and acquiring new customers.
  • Develop and implement plans to expand business presence in the assigned area.
  • Share market insights and competitor information with relevant channels throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to analyze market trends and customer needs, providing valuable input for effective sales strategies.
  • Attend monthly business meetings, engage in local trade shows, and represent the organization in regional or national activities.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of business to business (B2B) field sales experience.
  • Direct sales experience to HD Supply facility customers and industry product line.
  • Bilingual proficiency.
  • Experience with large volume of product lines.
  • Strong organizational skills and tech-savvy.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, lighting, plumbing, janitorial, and HVAC product lines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Experience with consultative selling/solution selling.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a remote position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) industry.
  • Familiarity with government contracting processes.
