About the position

The Outside Sales Account Manager for Government Solutions at HD Supply is responsible for managing an established portfolio of Federal and SLED customers, focusing on driving Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) sales. This role involves consistent day travel within the Tampa/St. Petersburg area, with occasional overnight travel. The position offers a competitive base salary along with a monthly sales incentive, and includes necessary tools such as a laptop, tablet, and cell phone.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers across all levels of an organization.
  • Manage sales volume with existing customers while actively prospecting and acquiring new customers.
  • Develop and implement plans to expand business presence in the assigned area.
  • Share market insights and competitor information with relevant channels throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to analyze market trends and customer needs, providing valuable input for effective sales strategies.
  • Attend monthly business meetings, engage in local trade shows, and represent the organization in regional or national activities.

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of business to business (B2B) field sales experience.
  • Direct sales experience to HD Supply facility customers and industry product line.
  • Bilingual proficiency.
  • Experience with a large volume of product lines.
  • Strong organizational skills and tech-savvy.
  • Knowledge of facilities products such as hardware, electrical, lighting, plumbing, janitorial, and HVAC product lines.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Salesforce or similar CRM.
  • Experience with consultative selling/solution selling.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals in a remote position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in government sales or working with government contracts.
  • Familiarity with the Tampa/St. Petersburg market.
