About the position

The position involves processing customer inquiries and orders, managing sales activities, and acting as a liaison between customers and the company. The role requires collaboration with various functional areas to ensure customer needs are met and involves a mix of sales functions and program management duties. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, flexible, and experienced in MRO and industrial sales, particularly with vehicle manufacturers or Tier 1 customers.

Responsibilities

  • Process customer inquiries and orders, ensuring timely delivery of products and services.
  • Contact other company units regarding design delivery or service matters.
  • Develop sales contacts and perform limited sales functions under supervision.
  • Plan, control, and manage sales activities to maximize sales volume from specified customers.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and the company, ensuring effective communication.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotes for new items or major changes.
  • Lead negotiations and communicate cost and timing to customers for projects.
  • Issue price change notices in a timely manner.
  • Conduct weekly customer visits, spending 50% of time on-site with end users and prospecting for new business.
  • Collaborate with various functional areas such as engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing, and purchasing.
  • Research and resolve customer problems, recommending modifications to product lines to expand sales.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume and potential client base expansion.
  • Monitor sales results and implement countermeasures to achieve sales plans.

Requirements

  • Typically a Bachelor's degree (preferred not required) with five or more years of related sales experience in MRO and/or industrial sales.
  • Experience with Japanese customers is preferred but not required.
  • Technical sales experience or a strong technical aptitude is required.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and strong communication skills are required.
  • Must be quality and outcome driven/oriented.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in MRO and/or industrial sales is highly desirable.
