About The Position

The Packaging Design Associate role is a developmental position focused on providing innovative packaging solutions within a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will receive training in corrugated structural design and will work closely with design teams to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity. Requirements

  • Passion for a career in corrugated packaging and packaging design.
  • Experience or coursework demonstrating knowledge of the packaging industry is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in packaging or mechanical engineering.
  • Geographic flexibility is required.
  • Competence in using CAD, Project Management, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective working relationships.
  • Ability to manage customer design needs and technical projects.
  • Mechanically competent.

  • Experience in the packaging industry or related coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design solutions and services to the Value Added Services design teams.
  • Influence the company's ability to provide innovative solutions to customers.
  • Follow the Design Associate curriculum with guidance from a mentor.
  • Provide prototypes to customers, plants, and sales for solution acceptance.
  • Utilize Impact CAD software to develop structural solutions.
  • Maintain and organize the design lab and manage sample stock inventory.
  • Contribute design ideas and solutions to the commercial organization and customers.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by practicing safety guidelines.
  • Optimize fiber utilization by understanding board characteristics and customer needs.
  • Balance expectations of internal and external customers.
