Forest River, Inc., the Nation's largest manufacturer of Recreational Vehicles, Cargo Trailers, Transit Buses, and Boats, has an immediate opening for a Painter. This position is crucial in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetics. As a Painter, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing coatings, and applying paint to various products. You will work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and quality is paramount. The role requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring that all hazardous materials are handled properly. You will also be expected to maintain the spray equipment and ensure that it meets operational standards. Responsibilities
- Clean parts with wax and grease remover and inspect prior to painting
- Prep product for final paint
- Mix coatings with reducer and catalyst at correct mixtures, using color mixture equipment
- Spray primers/Sealer with gravity feed primer spray gun
- Apply color and clear coating with spray equipment to meet coverage and gloss standards
- Check wet film mil thickness with wet mill gauge
- Check dry film thickness with a dry film gauge
- Must have the ability to correct errors in applications
- Maintain spray equipment to meet operational standards but not including repair of equipment
- Maintain paint booth cleanliness and filter changes and sign log sheets
- Ensure that hazardous waste that is handled is placed in proper containers
- Know spill response procedures and evacuation plan
- Keep work area clean and organized
