About the position

As a Paramedic at AMR, you will be part of a dedicated team that is passionate about delivering high-quality medical care to patients in emergency situations. Your role will involve providing both basic and advanced patient care, ensuring that you are equipped to handle a variety of medical emergencies. You will be responsible for assessing each call situation to determine the best course of action, utilizing your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures such as defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids. Communication is key in this role, as you will need to provide information and reassurance to patients and their loved ones during critical moments. In addition to direct patient care, you will act as the team leader on the scene, taking responsibility for unit management and ensuring that all protocols are followed. Driving the ambulance during 911 responses is a critical part of your duties, and you will work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel to provide the best possible care. Participation in community programs is also encouraged to maintain AMR's positive image and establish strong community relations. Responsibilities

  • Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
  • Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
  • Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
  • Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
  • Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
  • Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
  • Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and establish strong community relations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • State Paramedic License
  • State Driver's License
  • BLS, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic certification
  • Driving record in compliance with company policy
  • Pass Physical Agility Test
  • Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.
