About the position

The Paraplanner role at Ameriprise Financial is designed for mid to senior level professionals who support Financial Advisors in delivering exceptional client experiences. This position focuses on administrative tasks, client interaction, and ensuring that advisors meet their commitments to clients. The ideal candidate will have a background in administrative work for financial advisors and will be comfortable managing multiple tasks and client requests simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and process client account paperwork quickly and with minimal disruption.
  • Communicate clearly with clients and prospects using proper language.
  • Track all open requests with attention to detail.
  • Build close relationships with clients to make them feel cared for.
  • Keep client files organized and updated.
  • Log all activities related to clients into the CRM software.
  • Manage administrative staff and provide direction and training.
  • Oversee practice goals and progress toward important metrics.
  • Track necessary advisor licenses and continuing education requirements.
  • Understand and operate the VOIP phone system and adapt to new technologies.
  • Manage multiple open requests and shifting priorities.

Requirements

  • Valid Series 7 license is required.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience is required.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Ability to relocate to Sacramento, CA before starting work is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Financial advisor industry knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce, RingCentral, MS Office 365, and MoneyGuidePro is beneficial.
  • A college degree or higher is preferred.
