About the position

This position is a contract role within a Fortune 500 consumer packaged goods company, focusing on supporting various projects in the Human Resources and Learning & Development (L&D) departments. The role involves instructional design, training program development, and continuous improvement of training materials and methods. It is expected to require 20-30 hours per week initially, with potential for increased hours after the holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the instructional design process from conception to reinforcement, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and within scope.
  • Apply instructional design theories, models, and best practices to develop effective learning solutions for individual contributors, managers, and leaders.
  • Leverage adult learning principles to design content that is relevant, engaging, and tailored to various learning styles and needs.
  • Design and integrate multimedia elements such as graphics, videos, and interactive activities to enhance learning experiences.
  • Support the maintenance of a learning roadmap, providing visibility to learning activities across the organization.
  • Leverage authoring software including Articulate to design engaging eLearning materials.
  • Develop and implement assessment tools such as quizzes, practical exercises and feedback forms to measure effectiveness of instructional materials and training programs.
  • Track and report key metrics identifying areas for improvement within the trainings.
  • Monitor and solicit feedback on all training programs and materials, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness.
  • Support engaging and interactive training sessions for employees at all levels, ensuring content is understandable, maintains participant interest, and promotes active learning.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods including eLearning, blended learning, virtual classrooms, and in-person workshops to cater to different learner preferences and maximize retention.
  • Leverage and maintain learning management system (LMS) platform and tools that facilitate seamless learning experiences.
  • Support train-the-trainer sessions when needed and provide ongoing support and analysis to ensure effective application of training content.
  • Stay well-informed of emerging trends and best practices in learning and development including instructional design, e-learning, and educational technology to incorporate innovative approaches and technologies into training programs.
  • Continuously evolve training programs and materials to be responsive to emerging trends and best practices, as well as feedback from stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in learning and development or instructional design
  • 3-5+ years of experience with Articulate
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, HR, organizational development, or an adjacent field
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and other relevant tools
  • Experience building up, designing, and delivering e-learning modules and learning programs including eLearning and in-person training
  • Strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and an eye for design.

  • Experience creating modules/content on HR related topics
