About the position

The Reed College of Media at West Virginia University is seeking applications for part-time Lecturer positions to teach online courses in Marketing Communications. These positions are designed for individuals who are passionate about education and have expertise in the field of marketing communications. The college offers a variety of programs in an online format, including graduate programs in Data Marketing Communications, Digital Marketing Communications, and Integrated Marketing Communications, as well as several graduate certificates and specializations. Additionally, undergraduate programs are available, including a major in Integrated Marketing Communications and minors in Advertising, Entertainment Media, Event Planning, Health Promotion, Public Relations, Sport Communication, and Strategic Social Media. Candidates for these online adjunct teaching positions are preferred to have a terminal degree (master's or doctoral) in a closely related discipline, along with relevant professional experience. However, candidates with a bachelor's degree in a related field and substantial, specialized industry experience will also be considered. It is important to note that these positions are not anticipated to be benefits-eligible, and salary is determined on a per-course basis. Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate, graduate, or microcredential/non-credentialled courses in Marketing Communications.
  • Develop course materials and ensure they are aligned with program objectives.
  • Engage students in interactive learning experiences through online platforms.
  • Provide timely feedback and support to students throughout the course.
  • Maintain communication with students and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree (master's or doctoral) in a closely related discipline preferred.
  • Related professional experience in marketing communications or a similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with substantial industry experience will also be considered.
