About the position

The Manager of the Parts Department is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the parts department which include the purchasing, ordering, shipping, receiving, tracking, inventorying, and delivery of parts. In addition, they are responsible for complying with all FAA and company rules and regulations pertaining to parts and parts departments of repair stations. The position requires a commitment to a safe, positive, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment, with a focus on the wellbeing and happiness of team members and their families. The manager will work with a diverse group of aviation professionals and will be expected to contribute to a culture where every voice is heard and valued.

Responsibilities

  • Purchasing of all parts - avionics, airframe, engine etc.
  • Purchasing of all outsourced services.
  • Purchasing of all supplies, equipment, and services required to keep Jet Access functioning unless temporarily or partially delegated to another manager by the company President.
  • Responsible for assuring we get the best pricing on all purchases.
  • Issuing, amending, and tracking all Purchase Orders.
  • Shipping, receiving, and tracking of all parts.
  • Tracking and posting of freight charges.
  • Participate or lead negotiations with vendors and suppliers to ensure best pricing and terms.
  • Approve for payment all invoices for parts and outside services.
  • Sales of all aircraft parts OTC and for maintenance and support functions.
  • Creating, maintaining, filing and handling of all parts department paperwork required by the FAA, the company, accounting and other outside sources.
  • Maintain electronic online parts sites, such as ILS, Parts Base, E-BAY, and WTF Inventory and usage.
  • Management and control of all cores.
  • Management and control of tool crib.
  • Handle Parts returns.
  • Support other departments with parts-related issues or questions.
  • Sourcing and delivering parts to support maintenance.
  • Support, manage and control inventory cycle/perpetual counting, reconciliation, and audits.
  • Manage and control parts inventory i.e. setting quantities to be held in stock, rotation of stock, quarantine of stock, restocking of shop supplies etc.
  • Maintain a clean and organized parts department and warehouses.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
  • Prior experience with Aviation Maintenance in a Part 145 Repair Station.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact positively with customers, service providers, and other employees.
  • Ability to utilize technical documentation and literature as required.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently.
