About the position

The Parts Specialist position at Flexjet involves a variety of responsibilities centered around the management and organization of parts and inventory within the company. This role is crucial for ensuring that all materials are accurately tracked and managed, which is essential for the smooth operation of aircraft maintenance and other related functions. The Parts Specialist will be responsible for performing data entry into the computer inventory systems, which includes locating, issuing, receiving, and shipping materials. This requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. In addition to data entry, the Parts Specialist will conduct inventory audits, inspections, and reconciliations of materials as directed by leadership. This involves monitoring and updating stock items, maintaining minimum and maximum stock levels, and coordinating stock level adjustments with various departments, including Aircraft Maintenance and Purchasing. The role also requires effective communication with suppliers, particularly when unserviceable parts need to be returned as part of the purchase order agreement. The Parts Specialist must adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, including FAA, OSHA, and DOT standards, as well as company policies and procedures. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential, as is the ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays. The successful candidate will also need to pass various training courses, including the Materials and General Maintenance Manual (GMM) training and Hazmat Awareness course, and will be required to pass an International Air Transport Association (IATA) test. Overall, this position is integral to maintaining the efficiency and safety of the parts room operations at Flexjet.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry into the computer inventory systems to include locating, issuing, receiving, and shipping of materials.
  • Perform inventory audits, inspections, and reconciliations of materials based on direction from leadership.
  • Monitor and update stock items, minimum and maximum stock levels, and coordinate stock level adjustments with Aircraft Maintenance, Purchasing, and/or other departments within the Company.
  • Ensure proper documentation is received by the aircraft maintenance department when returning unserviceable parts removed from aircraft.
  • Effectively communicate with suppliers when unserviceable parts need to be returned as part of the purchase order agreement.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures, and risk controls.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Pass and maintain rating to be able to drive forklifts.
  • Work flexible shifts and/or variable hours including holidays and weekends.
  • Successfully pass the Materials and General Maintenance Manual (GMM) training courses.
  • Successfully pass Hazmat Awareness course and pass an International Air Transport Association (IATA) test.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 18 Years old
  • Basic computer skills/knowledge
  • Ability to lift 30-40lbs with ease
  • Warehousing / Inventory skills
  • Organizational skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of all shipping/receiving functions and responsibilities
  • Familiarity with computer and other office equipment and Inventory Control System
  • Experience with small and large weighing scales
