About the position

The Patient Benefits Coordinator at Gracepoint is responsible for assisting patients in navigating their insurance benefits, ensuring they understand their coverage options, and helping them obtain maximum insurance benefits. This role involves working closely with patients, healthcare teams, and insurance providers to resolve coverage issues and facilitate access to necessary healthcare services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with the process of obtaining and maintaining maximum insurance coverage.
  • Identify available healthcare insurance options as needed.
  • Remain current on available insurance options, including eligibility and enrollment requirements.
  • Screen new patient referrals for insurance coverage and obtain necessary documentation.
  • Provide timely approval for coverage.
  • Work closely with the patient's care team to address barriers to maintaining insurance coverage.
  • Enter and maintain insurance coverage and related demographic information in patient records.
  • Assist with applications for additional programs such as Patient Assistance Programs.
  • Collaborate with Pharmaceutical Reps, Hillsborough County Health Care Plan, Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance companies to resolve insurance problems.
  • Report any insurance or coverage issues to the assigned Manager.
  • Send out regular requested reports to management.
  • Attend staff meetings and departmental training courses as scheduled.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • More than three years of related experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance terminology.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Strong service orientation.
