Responsibilities
- Assist in meeting the physical and psycho-social needs of patients under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Perform various tasks as designated by competency documentation.
- Provide direct care with limited invasive procedures.
- Adhere to the delegable tasks approved by the Texas Board of Nursing.
Requirements
- Two years of experience as a nursing assistant in the healthcare profession preferred.
- Completion of CNA, Medical Assistant course, two years of nursing school, or other recent comparable education and job experience recommended.
- Current CPR certification required.
- AHA or ARC BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider card showing completion of cognitive and skills evaluation in accordance with the curriculum of AHA BLS (CPR & AED) program.
- Ability to provide basic caregiving skills to patients.
- Effective communication and time management skills.
- Ability to pass a background check.
