About the position

The position involves overseeing and performing all activities related to outpatient registration services and scheduling, with a focus on customer service. The role includes coordinating demographic and insurance intake, computerized registration, and scheduling of patients, while also supporting front office staff. This is a float position that may require travel to various outpatient locations based on staffing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support other center team members by answering phones and assisting customers.
  • Fulfill cross-trained responsibilities to ensure effective orientation and continuous development of staff.
  • Maintain daily scheduling status and address potential problems with corrective actions.
  • Complete patient pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, and scheduling per center standards.
  • Greet and assist patients, notifying appropriate staff of patient arrivals.
  • Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, confirming appointments, and handling insurance processes.
  • Set up, maintain, and discharge medical records in a timely manner according to center guidelines.
  • Process monthly patient satisfaction questionnaires according to center standards.
  • Deliver customer service to achieve stated goals.
  • Record insurance approvals and documentation in the medical record and computer system as per center standards.
  • Enter and reconcile therapy charges as assigned.
  • Complete additional department, organization, or network activities per established objectives.

Requirements

  • High school graduate required; Associate's degree in medical administration preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a medical/physicians office setting and/or experience with insurance benefits preferred.
  • Computer proficiency required, with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
